ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Now that the men's team is back on track,
Are the Mariners going to field a Women's team this coming season?
Way back when the announcement of the partnership between CCF and the Mariners to form the CC Mariners Academy a W League team was mentioned. That was before the very public financial crisis.

Does any one know if it's going to happen? :grouphug:

Have I missed something? Has there been an injection of funds? Has the Tax office been paid? Is super up to date?

Hopefully the West Sydney announcement gives a hint and we do field a team.

As part of the funding announcement, $1 million of this funding will be allocated to support the W-League and leverage the success of women’s football in Australia.

So I've heard a rumour that we're hoping to re-establish a WWL presence in 2016/17. That'd be good news, right?

Northbridge have a decent womens setup and confirmed a while ago that they would hopefully be applying for a w-league licence next season and it would be run under the Mariners name.If you go on the Northbridge website and download the high performance report the Womens section confirms it. I dare say Northbridge will fund it,home games out of North Sydney with the odd game before the men play at CCS.

Hopefully one day the Central Coast Mariners Women's team will actually be based on the Central Coast. But I suppose having our name on somebody else's team somewhere else is better than nothing

Is the W-League still broadcast on ABC?
If we are in it, it will give me a reason to watch.

More Mariners = more goodness.

accidentally clicked on this link, don't give a f**k about womens football frankly I'd rather the money spent forcing it was put into the main competition.

I'd have thought you'd see anything that helps to build the brand of the club and the game with 52% of the population would be a good thing.

It's a good thing that those who actually make decisions have at least some vague awareness that there are 2 sexes playing football at all levels then. The disparity is already severe enough, women's football could always do with more support, and the Matildas do pretty well.

If we are going to field a W League team,I`d be trying to coax Heather Garriock out of retirement.
An outstanding athlete who has retired way too early.
She would bring so much experience to a young side & would also have the added benefit of bringing other players here with her
