Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hey guys

Shame you couldnt hold Adelaide to a draw...people up here are quite confident on beating Melbourne over 2 legs...personally I'm not.

Central v QLD will be a cracker of a tie...plenty of goals and end to end stuff is great for the league.

Since I'm coming down for the first leg, where is the best place to get accomodation down there?? And how to get to Central would be great too!

Can't help you with the accommodation, except to say google 'Formule1 Gosford' now, and see if they have any rooms left (I doubt).

Getting down here - depends on how deep your pockets - drive, or fly (check out cheap airline deals). Easy to get to Gosford from Sydney/Kingsford Smith - bus to Central Railway station, train to Gosford. From Newcastle/Williamstown I will leave it to those who've done it.  (I suspect bus to Newcastle and train down)

You can get a train from the Airport to Central but it is stupidly expensive and if theres 3 or 4 of you, a cab is actually cheaper.

Given that NSW railways are completely shit, I would allow plenty of time too

The person was referring to the Central Coast as 'Central'. That's fine, we'll now call them 'Queens'.

To get to Central Coast, drive down the east coast of australia or fly to sydney and get a train from sydney's central station to gosford.

If there's no accom around Blue Tongue you can always just hit up the Leaguesy (in NSW, that's short for Leagues) after the game, then crash out across the road in this big ass park/oval kind of area. Bring sleeping bag.

What flights are people catching up? 630am from Newy on Friday (could be a long pub stay before hotel check in) and 1130ish back to Newy on sat. 39 and 79 bucks.

Those $39 Jetstar from Newy (if you're up for departing 6:20am and getting back on Sat evening) are still up for grabs, so no excuses.

Will still need to work part of Friday so getting JQ486 5:20pm up and JQ483 back at 11:30am Sat. Anybody on these flights? I'll be wearing my supporter gear on the plane.

Staying with my sister in Brissy, who with my nephew (OK, Roar fans) are included on a most wondrously located Cat 1 family ticket - see  http://marinators.net/forum/index.php?topic=3047.new#new Reply #29

Lot of help guys!!  :yellowcard:

What did you want Yogi, an offer of a limo and board and lodgings? You've been given some good advice - now it is up to you. In addition, you have the internet - use it.

Tip, other than Formule1 try Best Western (more pricey). There are only a few motels in Gosford. Otherwise stay elsewhere and use the train.  Try 'City Rail'.

Once you've done that and have any detailed follow up questions, ask again.
