ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariner TV is a good initiative from the club. The first episode was an interview with Matt Simon, the 2nd, below, is a chat with Ollie. The next scheduled interview is with Matt Ryan

If you want to ask the Mariners player a question, then you'll need to post on FB or twitter... I dont think there's any other way at the moment (I could be wrong on that point). If you're not on FB or twitter, you can post a question here and someone will copy and paste it to the relevant social medium for you.

Here's the 2nd episode from Mariners TV.

Another absolutely outstanding initiative by the Mariners. I have watched them all and sent in a few questions. Another fantastic way to keep connected with the clubs and players. Wouldn't it be good if they put on simple little video drills for the kiddies to copy and learn. :headbounce:

Brilliant stuff. And good idea Atomic, if anyone for some reason can't post their question on Facebook or Twitter, we can relay them through here.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for good feedback re MarinersTV! I am the new media officer at the Mariners and will be posting from this username on this forum. Happy to look to incorporate skills tips, etc, as we go along with MarinersTV -- actually, it was already a thought for coming editions.

Since this thread has been pinned, I am happy for you all to post your questions for the Mariners Fan Q&A's in here, as well as on Twitter and Facebook.

I am filming with Mat Ryan tomorrow morning (IF I get some questions!), so it'd be fantastic if you could shoot some questions through today. I'll be pushing that line on Facebook and Twitter within the next 30 minutes.

Bear with me for another fortnight or so, and I'd like to look to open an "ASK THE CLUB" thread on this forum to allow fans to submit their queries by this medium. I have talked with our Marketing Manager and we both agree this would be a decent way to address some of the queries fans, and disseminate information to our supporters so they can inform other supporters, and so on... I am sure it has been done before, but we can look to answer some questions once or twice a week to keep you all in the loop.

For your information, the team is looking strong with great depth this year, and I truly believe the Mariners will enjoy another successful season.

I want to speak as colloquially as possible with fans and don't want this to be a sales pitch, but just a reminder that the early bird price for Mariners Memberships closes tomorrow. www.ccmariners-memberships.com.au is your best bet to find all the information -- we truly are working towards this season being a cracker!

Okay, that's all for now. Please post your questions for Mat below. I know you've got some ;)

Hi CCM_ great to see you on the forum...

My question to Matty Ryan is:
How did you overcome the nerves? Especially that first game after JVS was injured?

Questions for Matt

When will he be fit to play?

How bad did it feel to miss out on the WC?

Who does he rate as the best goal keeper he has seen or watched?

Thanks for the questions T and Midfielder.

Midfielder: Integration of media on match-day is a KEY focus for me this season. We are putting in place some plans to have some interaction with Facebook before the game, as well as Twitter before, during and after the match.

I like your idea to do some stuff with the fans and am willing to explore. Match days can be quite pressing with commitments we have to FFA, media, etc, but I am willing to look at options to get the fans view across. Will all depend on resources whether it can be on match-day or not, however.

There are some exciting developments coming in mid-September in regards to our online presence, which ought to see increased video in one place on the Mariners website.

Keep the questions for Mat coming! I'd like to think we can grow the Fan Q&A into something all Mariners supporters look forward to each week, and get involved in, throughout Hyundai A-League season seven. As well as something fans encourage other fans to get involved in...

Questions for Matt:

Why did he want to become a goalkeeper?

Does he have any superstitions?

What teams overseas does he support and why?

Questions for Matt:
at the start of last season Matt was #2 and probably not expecting too many opportunities at first team keeper. How does it feel going into the new season as the Mariners #1?

who's idea was it for an early warm up in goals before the second half of each game?

specific goalkeeping training is generally lacking at local club level. what sort of drills/practice would you recommend to any young/aspiring keeper on the coast?

Welcome CCM_Club_Official...
Do you have a shorter name?

As a passionate Mariner`s supporter, I`d like to thank you for coming here, so that fans can interact with you & keep on top of the limited information we receive via press releases.

Hopefully,we can now get all the inside goss on the players etc.

I have to warn you though, this place is very addictive.....lol

Questions for Mat Ryan:-
What club did you originally start playing for? (in what Association)

John Crawley has obviously had a big influence on your career.
What other keeper coaches have you had & how do they rate against John?

Hi all,

Thanks for your questions for the last edition of Mariners Fan Q&A. Looking to film another either late this week or early next, this time with new recruit Troy Hearfield.

Of course, we think there's plenty to ask Troy given his experience with other Hyundai A-League clubs, and his stint in Indonesia.

Happy for you all to post your questions below, and once we've got enough via Twitter, Facebook and CCMFans.net, we'll look to get Troy in front of the camera.

Thanks again for your support of this initiative!

No questions yet..?

What are your goals for this season?
What was it like to score against Celtic, and could you please put one of those past Newcastle this season?
How does playing in Asia compare to the A-League, and what experience can you bring back to the Mariners?

I'm sure some of you guys and gals just lurking can think of some better questions than that to ask.
This is a great opportunity we have been given by the club... don't be shy now!

Troy:

How did you take missing out on the 2008 Beijing Olympic squad and has that provided extra motivation for your career?
