ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners: How is Nik Mrdja travelling in the lead up to the Pre-Season Cup?

Mariners: How is Nik Mrdja travelling in the lead up to the Pre-Season Cup?

There are ALOT of things I want from this season, though one right up near the top of the list is seeing Nik Mrdja have a good run with injuries which sees him play the majority of our games this season.

Mrdja, if 100% fit, can make the loss of money hungry Aloisi a moot point - I believe he is as good as any striker in the A-League. It was a massive blow last season to lose him after such a great start (3 games, 2 goals not to mention 6 goals in the 3 pre-season games).

Anyone know how he is at the moment at training?

His return is one I a truly looking forward too.

Agreed, that skiving bludger is as good a striker as anyone in the HAL.

As soon as the heart muscle mends, we will potentially have a real asset

Doesn't lack heart, but IMHO just needs a injury free run.
Had a injury free run for a bit last season and was being touted as a possible Socceroo, not the hallmark of someone lacking heart.

According to the latest from the ccm website, nik is still a few weeks away from playing. His return was originally slated for pre season cup. He seems to be on track according to the that press release.

No doubt if he is fit he will be offered a contract

Sharp comment, lol!

I think he is out of contract, so he either proves his fitness and gets an offer by us or looks for another club.

In all honesty, if we thought we could get 10 games out fo him or use him as a super sub, we should sign him straight away.

10 games from him probably = 6 goals
