Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners at Central Coast Grammar School game

A big thanks to the Mariners!

Today Central Coast Grammar School held a year 12 students vs teachers football game. Lawrie, Tobin, Brownie and some other club representatives all played for the teachers side and also loaned out a kit for the teachers. The game was a lot of fun and Lawrie showed he still has it, knocking in both goals for a 2-0 final result. His first was very cheeky, shooting from half way while the teams were still swapping ends from halftime.

Thought I'd spread the word, especially because the Mariners have faced a bit of criticism lately for their lack of community participation.

He fits the bill doesn't he ?

Mates in Scotland reckon the A-League is...... "a hame fur auld Scottish wasters"......not my words btw!

But yes well done CCM.More of this sort of thing please.

Even just an appearance by one or two players or officials during the kids sports period can work wonders for community support.

Tobin had some great touches and still has his footwork but limited in mobility  :p :piralaugh:

The game was only 45 or so mins long, but Lawrie and co. played the whole game.

I'm pretty sure they also attended a P.E. class before hand.

I saw a piece on TWG last year about the popularity of the O35 game. Tobin, Kimon Taliadoros and Francis Awaritefe were all playing, so it doesn't come as much surprise that Tobin still has the skills. The fact that he is limited in mobility means he's perfectly suited to the O35's  :piralaugh:

Taliadoros, awaritife and paul okon all played in west ryde rovers o35s team last year in the gladesville hornsby association. dont know why they picked that club, its a club full of dirty players generally, pretty bad reputation

yep. actually its that whole area, west ryde rovers, west ryde eagles, all saints hunters hill, holy cross college, saints united, putney,  90% of the teams from those clubs ive played against are jerks. must be something in the water.

i talked to the ryde coach for their superleague team this year, he said after okon went off to gc, that o35s team fell apart

CCM deserve credit for stuff like this.

They'll get even more credit and look even better in the public eye imo if they carry out regular visits to other schools.....you know the ordinary ones that most punters kids go to....not just the "upper class" ones....... ;)

If they do let's hear about it.

People tend to shout from the rooftops when things go wrong but take the positive things for granted.I want to hear about the good stuff too.

I want my kids to come home from school one day all excited saying " Dad the Mariners were at school today and......etc etc".

The local AFL club have been there several times in the last few years.
