ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners and Jets must answer FFA.

No idea if this is somewhere else.

About the on field shenanigans.

"Both clubs have been given until Friday to respond, with FFA warning sanctions could include a fine, a reprimand, a deduction of points or a combination of both."

Lawlz..FFA are on fire this week !

The big worry is whether the FFA is incensed enough to go beyond the warning/reprimand stage.

They do have the power to fine or even deduct points, which would be a very harsh treatment to either club at this stage of the season.

The other issue is whether the FFA view the matter as serious enough, to place both clubs under a 'watch' situation and should they transgress any further terms and conditions of their agreement with the FFA, the possibility of closed stadiums and points deduction gets closer. :-\

So let me get this straight.

The match review panel was set up to deal with incidents and errors sucks as "sackwhack", or Milligan having a poke - problem is they are still hamstrung by the stupid "If the ref sees it then we can't do anything".

So how the hell is that going to prevent "Sackwhack II: Sack Harder"?  It isn't. What an epic failure.

The MRP is a joke, and only marginally increases oversight on what we had before.  Unless it can function as a real match review panel, with the ability to overturn poor calls by the ref other than red cards, such as the recent Allsop incident, it's a complete joke and should be disbanded.

If whack of the sack has nothing to answer for then neither do either club IMO. It was dealt with on field (as the MRP stated) and their please explain is hypocritical and renders the existence of the MRP, a farce and just a waste of time and money.

"Hutchinson kicked the ball into a contingent of Newcastle fans while Griffiths allegedly put his hands around the Mariners' captain's neck."

FFS, since when was Hutch captain? ??? ???

Becaue the League itself can bring charges of Team Misconduct for mellees or brawls.

It's spelled out in the regs, and you can read the regs off the A-League website. http://www.a-league.com.au/default.aspx?s=rules

Although this piqued my interest:

"For the purposes of these Regulations, an incident has escaped the attention of the
Referee if the Match Review Panel, after a review of the Broadcast Footage and any
Referees and Match Official Reports, in its sole opinion, determines that either the
Referee did not see the incident, his or her view of the incident was not sufficiently
clear for him or her to rule on the incident or the incident was not drawn to his or her
attention by an assistant referee. The Match Review Panel may in making its
determination seek confirmation from the Referee that the incident escaped his or
her attention. Any decision of the Match Review Panel that the incident escaped the
attention of the Referee is final and may not be challenged before a Judicial Body."

The last sentance screams "Hello denial of natural justice".

The more I read about this MRP, the more I go from a defender to a critic.

. what are they expected to say and how will this determine what action the ffa take?

. so the mariners will have to say they will never kick balls into the crowd again (no more giveaways) and we will erect fencing around the ground (or any ground at which we play) in case a ball comes out of play and into the crowd

. we also solemnly swear that if any of our players are grabbed around the neck/throat that they will offer no resistance, their teammates will not react (verbally or physically) and that we accept any injury or loss of life will be a sacrifice necessary to maintain good public relations and our place in the league
