Early days, but how do you rate the move from Bay 16 to Bay 23? Base your answer on any criteria, but here's a few to consider:

1. View of the game
2. Amenities - loos, pies, beer, etc.
3. Atmosphere
4. Positioning for TV exposure
5. Comfort - sun, breeze, shade, etc.
6. Security

where-ever we move to it's not going to fix our problems.
we'll still have the same people turning up week in week out who are un-willing to try anything new.

Away support at Newcastle and Sydney where we actually have a core, loud group of supporters who actually want to be there and chant things that dont have the words 'yellow' or 'mariners' in them..

imho an away trip to Newy/Sydney will see CHFILWY come alive.

this arvo you guys were good. i have been mostly critical of the marinators as they make no noise, but this arvo for the few people in there it sounded good. from bay 10

The lady they had policing the bay did a great job of moving people up until about 10 minutes before when the influx of people entering occurred which I was very pleased with

correct me if im wrong, but i was sure against we had more people there than yesterday afternoon, but less singing than yesterday afternoon, cos from where i was ( it was a F** load louder yesterday, and it was great.

i think partly our issue is the fact that we are trying to measure up to other clubs with a considerably larger populus behind them, i personally would much rather be a smallish but vocal and coherent mob, than the opposite,

Brennan, agreed. . . .

is hard having both Newcastle and Sydney supporters at our first two home games.
It sounds loud from where we are diagonally across from the bay, but only when a chant is sung by everyone. Alot of the chants you can make out, but are over/ended before it gets a chance to be a loud decent chant.

It's a much much better view with the only negative being the sun in your eyes in the afternoon. It's going to be uncomfortable in summer. Closer to the facilities is good. There's no atmosphere but Bay 16 was no better.

Underneath the top deck overhang was very pleasant (if somewhat claustrophobic compared to the open expanse of Bay 16). Some seats towards the back have a huge pillar in the way - blocking the Southern goalmouth. But I can't complain about my seat at the back, apart from the fact that waving a banner\flag is impossible, and the observation that at the last game the back row appeared to be populated with Kwassie-haters.

I find it uncomfortable not being behind the goals after a lifetime in that position supporting a number of clubs, but I think that the acoustics are far superior for generating noise.

Also, being in Bay 23 (considering it's similar location) feels (at the moment) a bit like an away match at the Scum, except at a better venue with less Bogans.

The ability to get the eastern grandstand joining in is, I think, greater than getting the bays near Bay 16 going (as long as the songs and chants are easy to sing and have lyrics that can be heard).

Having a standing rowdy bay with beer and the odd expletive thrown can cause problems with adjoining bays not used to that, but I've not heard of any drama so far.

Overall, better than Bay 16 IMO. But only if we take advantage of the acoustics that a roof provides. Ample incentive to sing loud and proud.

Only complaint I had for Saturday's game was the sun...but we all knew it'd happen.

My thoughts after yesterday's game:

1. Bay 23 is better viewing and acoustics wise than Bay 16.

2. Marinators started off quiet but picked up quite a bit, especially in the second half. Loved how loud it was everytime we chanted "Aloi$i your a wanker!" Also great was the 'Yellow Football Team' chant that kept going and going near the end of the game.

3. Big ups to the guys standing behind me. I didn't catch names, but amongst you was a bloke with a trumpet and a bloke in a 2004 Arsenal strip. Every chant I started up, you guys got into it straight away. When the whole of Bay 23 responds the same way, we will have one HELL of a supporters army that will rival The Cove and The Tards for noise-per-capita. Believe me!

4. Wtf is with people chatting in the Bay rather than singing? I get that we're standing with our mates, but we have the rest of the week to chat to them about who Lawrie should drop, who we saw at The Woodport Inn on Wednesday night etc. The 90 minutes that we're standing there is for singing, making awesome atmosphere and doing everything we can to get the Mariners over the line.  :eek:verhead:

5. Hopefully the people down the front who still sit and watch will either a) Stand up and join us or b) Move to another bay.

6. I reckon we should all jump during the 'Ole ole Central Coast Mariners' part of 'Yellow Football team'. Would look mad if the majority of the Bay did it!

Yellow army was easily the loudest thing to come from the bay. As well as Mariners clap clap clap. And Aloisi chant.

Cove were quite loud, but they did not sing 90 mins. When they did sing the only song really heard over was yellow army.  But noise was pretty good from the bay over on the western stand where i was.
