Let's get Kisnorbo!

He's available (from 442 via SFCU).

I can think of a dozen dumber ways of spending $500k. He's apparently talking to Palace and dirty Leeds, but if he's thinking he won't make the WC squad, then he's surely a chance to come home.

Ignore some inept looking performances in a Socceroos shirt and remembering his worst crimes were in Asia 2007 when basically everyone looked like a muppet, he can't help but be a quality player though (injuries aside) - he's been playing at a good level but has suffered with injuries of late and is just coming back. When fit with the Foxes he was one of their best when they were challenging for promotion from the sodapop league and generally highly rated.

In any case, would anyone doubt that he'd be:
A) far better than anyone we've got, and;
B) likley far better than anyone else in the league?

Oh, and Spirit nostalgics - Hendo's been released as well.

I agree with your A and your B...but $500K is a lot of money. Just say he was interested, I thought we assumed that the reason we haven't got a marquee was due to not having that 500K available.
I havent seen him play much- but would you think he could take over what vidmar left behind (ie. leading defence)??? I mean if we get a CB- he has to be a leader, no doubt about it!
If so, then who knows...

Kisnorbo, no thanks, id rather get in defenders better than what we currently have, not the reverse.

Sorry .. they were just too inept!  No thanks.

None of our defenders at present would be within a light year of Kisnorbo. Just two years ago he was one of the best in the CCC. He's had a bad run with injuries, but I reckon half fit he'd still be a gun in this league. He'd certainly be ahead of Huke or Chris Coyne, and miles and miles ahead of Costanzo or Milicevic. We'd be mad not to call his agent even as an exploratory thing.

Ummmmm......................... yeah................. no.

As much as it pains me, Kevrenor was right.  :p  The inbuilt ability Kisnoobo has to just turn to epic shit at any second (and with far too much frequency) is not worth the risk.

Next.

he's made 126 appearances at Leicester since 2005. wilko's made 84 for us.

are people seriously trying to argue that a player of lesser quality than wilko would make that many appearances (mostly in the championship) if he was completely rubbish?

beauchamp has had similar injury issues but notwithstanding that he hasn't made that anything even close to that many appearances either in germany or in denmark (so we're talking roughly equivalent levels), but i doubt there'd be the same level of doubt over him should someone suggest that we sign him.

kisnorbo was also selected for full-strength socceroos squads, something that none of our other central defenders have done while at the club. when he was playing and fit, leicester avoided the drop on 06 and 07, when he injured himself (six months out) they went down in 08. he's just come back from another two month stint on the sidelines as they've come back up.

you don't get to play that often at a good level (and serve as captain of your club, FWIW) if you're crap. i think there's little doubt that if fit he'd be far above the standard of our other defenders.

i tell you one thing - i'd *hate* to see him sign for another club in the league.

And was nothing short of garbage every time he played.  He was a _disgrace_ in the Asian Cup, even worse than Lolman.

Oh, and his Leicester manager must love having him around..... they're exactly quick to re-sign him up??

Let another team in the League have him - we (and all the other teams) know straight away to murder him with pace/through balls, and that he's suss on set pieces (because we need another addition to our defence with that weakness).

What and this league's not inept ?

Our defence is not inept ?

Everyone was inept in Asia 07.Something to do with the coaching perhaps ?

I agree with Dibo. He'd stand out in this league imo and for the sort of money we're likely to be looking to spend we're unlikely to get much better.

If we also got A.Tosser to play along side him I'd be prepared to give Wilko a chance at RB with Heff at LB.

OK, I'll do it but will cop a very lengthy ban after we play the scum next

I agree with dibo and arab. with all respect serious, Kisborno is clearly a big step above our defenders and almost all HAL defenders with the exception of Moore (I won't include Muscat because he's a midfielder these days). It's ridiculous to comment on his form with the NT and say he'd be no good at HAL level. Just how good do you think our league is? I thought Kawasaki just showed us where we stand.

If we could get Kisnorbo and another good quality centre half, we could move Wilko to his best position at right back and could have sonic/Bojic and the left.

This is the seaon for Boogs to step up and live out his potential or become just another player.
