Marketing & Events Manager
The Mariners have set a high benchmark for creative marketing & event delivery within our market, both on matchdays at Bluetongue Stadium and in the wider community, ultimately leading to us become the most recognized, respected and loved brand in our catchment. The Marketing & Events Manager will need to ensure this position is maintained, before building it further in our local market and beyond. The successful candidate will have a broad operational responsibility to drive our consumer marketing program.
Marketing
- Lead annual consumer marketing plan & budget, including targeted advertising, promotional events, brand & product development, consumer segmentation & demographic anaylsis
- Work closely with media outlets, including official partners (print, radio & TV), to drive memberships & overall match attendance
- Management of various external suppliers, particularly in relation to creative marketing collateral and matchday entertainment
Events
- Responsible for ensuring the Mariners matchday experience is far more than ‘just a football match’ for our fans
- Management of logistical & creative considerations in delivering consumer experience elements of our home matchdays
- Develop, plan & implement a wide range of non-matchday events
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a passionate individual with a strong foundation in consumer marketing & entertainment event delivery.
Essential requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in a related field (Marketing and/or Sports Management)
- At least three years full-time experience in consumer marketing role, ideally in the sport or entertainment sector
- Proven track record developing & implementing marketing plans & associated budgets
- Ability to mix strategic planning with detailed implementation
Desirable candidate features:
- Past-experience working at a sporting organization
- A passion for football
- Knowledge of the Central Coast and/or Northern Sydney markets
Corporate Partnerships Executive
With solid foundations in place, Mariners management is seeking a Corporate Partnerships Executive to act as a key member of a compact and dynamic team tasked with consolidating and growing the commercial program. The Corporate Partnerships Executive will be responsible for delivering top-class client servicing to current corporate partners, identifying and chasing new business leads & supporting the strategic development of the commercial program.
Account Management
- The successful candidate will act as an ‘in-house champion’ for corporate partners, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and partners are assisted to integrate Mariners rights into their marketing strategy in a way that maximizes return on investment and objectives. Key areas of responsibilities will include:
- Providing sports sponsorship expertise to partners on leveraging their investment and identifying opportunities to drive additional value
- Creating and implementing reporting & tracking procedures that will assist partners in tracking their sponsorship KPIs and allow Mariners senior management to have a clear overview of partner activities
- Delivery & management of all contracted commercial rights, in a proactive and client-focused manner
- Management of various external suppliers
Sponsorship Sales & Strategy
- Independently leading sales of lower-tier sponsorship packages
- Key support role during renewals with incumbent major partners
- Track industry news and insights, ensuring the program is always up to speed with benchmark standards
- Monitor the local, national and regional business environment to identify key target industries, brands and contact lists for sponsorship pitches

The successful candidate will be a passionate individual with a strong foundation in sponsorship delivery & direct sales experience.
Essential requirements:
- At least two years full-time experience in an Australian based sponsorship role within the sports &/or entertainment sector
- Proven success working with sponsors to leverage rights at both community and national levels
- Client-focused working style and an understanding of how sponsorship fits in the overall marketing mix for both consumer and B2B brands
- Knowledge of key sponsorship tracking procedures and valuation measures
- High levels of competency in Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel
- Efficient and detailed working style
