ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Jets Rivalry

Hi Administrator

I am a student sports journalist at Monash University and will be writing an article on your rivalry with the Jets prior to next months game.

I am looking for some quotes - that are obviously not explicit! - for the article, preferably from someone high up in your organisation.

Can you let me know who to contact please. It would be a 10 minute chat down the phone in the next few weeks.

I am Pommie Hammers fan so would be happy to swap stories about The Millwall!

Cheers

Welcome to ccmfans! There's not really any organisation/hierarchy so will leave this open for volunteers. I'm sure there are a few others on here that may be interested in helping out.

Adz is very modest. As our top boy, he led the charge at the battle of Broadmeadow back in 07 and personally dropped six scummers. ;)

Saw a Scum fan get his nose put across his face after one game in Gosford but apparently he was jumping on cars so deserved it.
Apart from that its mainly just been verbals.
Only been to that rat hole Newcastle twice but love how the bogan scum come out of thier shacks to abuse you as you walk past after the game...great fun.

Can someone answer this question from the 442 forum? I thought if anyone would know the answer it would be some of the old heads floating around here.

Why do Jets fans call the Mariners gypsies? I must have missed something or it just hasn't been explained ever. And none of this 'because they live in gypsy homes' or 'because they're dirty stinking hippies' nonsense. What's the actual story?

The 'joke' on their forums was that we all live in caravans. Caravans = gypsies.

I guess there are a lot of caravan parks on the coast? Who knows. They also used to joke about the youth suicide rate on the coast, so that should give you an idea of what type of people came up with that shit.

I'd much rather be a gypsy than a bogan.

Gypsies are also notorious for thieving. So I assume our name also came about because the bogans are a bit pissed at us always pinching the points!

The 'Myth' of us being Gypsies was born from some 'scummer' trolling the net & coming across a news article which told the story of some 'Gypsies' being either arrested or investigated on the Central Coast for some crimes of, what was it now??? ???
You guessed it.........thieving. Its one of many things that Gypsies are renowned for.

One of the other most notable things they are known for is....NEVER LIVING IN THE ONE FCUKING SPOT!

Gypsy steals.....Gypsy moves on. pretty logical you'd thunk, but not for scummmers?

That was fun! And the look on their faces when we all marched into the stadium singing In Your Newcastle Slums... priceless!
