ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Coached for a time at Spirit FC but it was hard to assess how well he went. Credentials are not bad.

I'm still lost RE: the academy.

I thought the seniors finished 2nd to the bottom but overall the academy finished at the bottom of the club table? Why are the seniors being demoted but the juniors not?

Seniors and juniors are 'de-coupled' so that clubs with shit junior systems (*waves to Rockdale City*) can't just keep selecting "politicals" whose grandfathers with fat chequebooks buy spots on the team, while clubs with good junior setups but shit seniors (like CCMA) don't get punished at both levels.

There'll be a problem in future if you have a situation where you get a a club like Sydney Uni with great juniors (on the verge of promotion to NPL1) and shit seniors (on the verge of being relegated to SL1) - if the seniors go down, the juniors are wiped out, even though they're good...

CCMA seniors will be in PL2 (juniors still in PL1).

There is a note against our inclusion in both leagues "*Subject to Central Coast Football remaining affiliated with FNSW ".

Don't know whats going on there.

My guess is that CCF may become CCM?
CCF have the license don't they? Maybe that is just what it is alluding to. Maybe CCF is gonna transfer the license over to CCM.

Nope - I think CCF have been disaffiliating from FNSW to avoid the $700k or so that they're billed by FNSW and FFA.

They must have wanted to give the licence to CCMFC and have announced that they've done so (presumably to separate the licence from CCF so FNSW can't kill off the local representation in the top leagues), but it seems that FNSW has basically said "that licence ain't yours to give, so stick around or lose the lot".

Will be very interesting to see what CCF clubs choose to do.

Wow! Very high-risk strategy .. esp. for any player wanting a serious career outside the Academy.

On Van Blerk .. a friend (or at least he was until he described this forum as 'dodgy' (Hi mate ;-) ) says:

Won Div 1 league with Spirit FC in 2008, promoted to Super League and won 2009 GF. Left Spirit mid 2010.
