ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

One of those "state of the game" conversations happening on SBS at the moment if anyone is interested.

Featuring a 12 year old "wonderkid" who has no euro passport complaining he's to good for Australian football and Vuko Tomasevic as the "Former young socceroo who has former team mates in South Africa right now"

For every 12 year old wonderkid whose parents assure you they have a huge and lucrative future in front of him there are probably a hundred 28 year olds playing park footy who have a huge and lucrative future behind them.

Sounds like usual negative sbs shit on australia

If the kid is so brilliant, get him to an HAL acadamy or the AIS, allow him to develop into the next Messi and I'm pretty confident a lucrative career awaits eventually.

% of gifted 12 year olds who make it globally? Not too high I reckon

You dont have to play in the state academies of ais to make it, there are plenty of examples of that, if you are good enough and work hard enough you can do it going through state leagues etc. If you are wonderkid, then you would be in AIS or state versions.

There was nothing negative, or in fact anything of much interest. They spoke to Buckley, Han Berger, Brendan Schwab, Kyah Simon, Les Murray, Edwin Lugt,  a supporter from sfc and heart as well as various others including a couple of kids and their fathers. Bit of a snooze fest actually.

fans from NSWPL (Sydney Olympic in particular) were asked to take part but they all declined.

2% of junior athletes that play at representative level as juniors make it to professional status.
