ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hanging Banners

Hey guys,

My mates and I are members up in Bay 38, and we have been discussing having some banners made up to hang from the railings of the western terrace.

Couple of questions, hope you can help.

What are the rules/etiquette regarding hanging banners inside the stadium?

How do we contact the new Official Supporters Club?

Cheers

I reckon that's a great idea.

Are there sponsor logos that would be obscured, etc.? If not, I reckon it'd be just amazing if we could cover the entirety of the eastern stand's length with banners.

They would cover some stadium advertising.

We would be hanging them from the western terrace in front of Bay 38, so they wouldn't be visible on TV but would look great from the pitch and eastern stands.

I'm happy of course for it to spread to the eastern stands, I'm sure this would be something the Official Supporters Club would get behind.

If you cover the advertising then you'll have a snowball's chance in hell in my opinion.

The advertising being covered is the stadium's not the clubs, eg win, and wouldn't be seen on tv regardless.

Anyone have the contact info for the supporters club people so I can clear it up with them correctly.

Hey brother,

Unfortunately, if it covers up stadium advertising, it's a no-go. My suggestion would be to get in touch with the club directly, as banners etc generally need to be approved to come in.
BikiniGirl is a member of the OSC and may be able to help you out, or Pokes could point you in the right direction.

Peace.

A group tried to hang a banner in front of 38 last year or maybe the year before(I think it was Zac's birthday or something). It lasted about 10 seconds.

Hi Yossarin. Try hitting Bluetongue Stadium up about this on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BluetongueStadium so you can get a definitive answer (send them a private message via their page).
They are really good and happy to help out supporters so you never know.
If they say yes, they would let security know so they can leave it up.

Thanks everyone for the feedback and contact details, I will talk to the club, osc and stadium directly over the weekend and keep you posted.

And a suggestion for the admins, how about an "Introduce Yourself" thread for new members. Could help convert some lurkers into active posters, pretty standard on forums.

Cheers

tbf it's a bit hidden away... although there's really not that much on the forum for it to get lost in :D

A little suggestion for your banner.

Maybe suggest that the sting/rope length is such that banner actually drops below the advertising sign & hangs down under it but obviously not to far so that it can be reached from below where it would cause safety concerns.

just might be the compromise you need to get it up there.

. is that likely to obscure the view of those deep within the undercroft?

The banner is a vertical rectangle portrait type, it would potentially obscure 1.2m of advertising and although it is quite tall when fixed to the railing I dont believe it would be reachable or obstruct anyone's view from below
