ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. Would be kinda pointless. The reason this is a travesty is that the massive banner was seen by everyone that passes Bluetongue stadium over the bridge and was in a prime location in the centre of Gosford.

I concur. It would be a very poor strategic decision for the NRL to place a team up here, without removing one from Sydney. The NRL's vision would be to be the premier sporting code in the country or something along the lines of this. Expanding 50kms up the road, whilst having a heavily diluted Sydney market and having no presence West of Penrith would go against everything their Management has built in the course of their tenure. Surely they cannot be that inept?

It's a prime location in Gosford, the home ground and home city of our club. There are Mariners flags on the bridge. It is OUR territory. To have one of a central figure representing us replaced by an NRL banner in OUR territory when they're not even a club is disgusting.

That's the second thing I've read today from people inferring things are a lot worse than what Peter Turnbull said a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, both comments sound like informed comment - though they could equally be idle speculation.
Please tell me it is only speculation!!

There is some people on this forum that if they say something heavy its not done lightly.
Obviously We are in a bit of trouble with needing to take an advance on the money from FFA. That makes for worrying signs leading into a year where our outlay will be higher than normal.
I'm praying for Turnball to pull this off.
