ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Foundation members function - another F@#* up?

All of the club's foundation members received an email from the club informing them they would
be recognised with a march around the ground on 11 April before the WSW game. Ok - that's good. Also their would be a function at a time to be advised where they would be further recognised by the club. Excellent - Recognition, reward, engagement, appreciation - all good and an indication the club is making an effort to get back on track.
So when does the club decide what would be the ideal time to recognise their loyal foundation members? 2pm on a Saturday afternoon in May. Did the rocket scientists who decided this have
any idea who their members are? They are parents and grandparents of junior players, coaches, club administrators, referees, Over 35 And 45 players - all of whom are where at 2pm on a Saturday in May? Probably doing something to do with football.
I wonder what days and times these marketing geniuses rejected as being unsuitable before deciding that 2pm on Saturday 9th May would be the ideal time to gather all their loyal, football loving foundation members together - because they couldn't possibly be doing anything to do with football after the A League has finished.

if it's something they've missed bring it to the clubs attention while there might still be a chance to change it

. the time to advise them would have been when they sent out the initial 'save the date' email ... when they asked for RSVPs

. i don't play, but i did try to tell them that people (including me) cannot commit when no details are provided like time and location. perhaps if people had have responded with something like 'yes, i want to attend ... but obviously won't be able to if it is staged when the local competition is playing' - they may have considered it

We sent an e-mail to ask a few questions and when we didn't get a response then called and were told that the person involved would get back to us. To date we have had no response to either.

It seems we're valued until we become a nuisance...

Hi All,

Thanks for your feedback regarding the Foundation Member Function. I will chat to those organizing, and pass on this feedback.

Bikinigirl, can you please let me know which email you sent it to, and I will follow up for you.

Cheers,
Carly.

. spent a few hours at the function yesterday and was quite impressed ... the club did go to a far bit of trouble

. the 'playing group' was represented by hutch, matty simon and kwaz

. big Shaun was there and said a few words ... all well received. importantly he was very receptive to feedback and patient with the fans and hearing their opinions one-on-one

. there was a lot of good discussion amongst the attendees about the team of the decade with some views, stories and anecdotes from kwas, hutch and sharon baxter

. congrats to the club ... we had a very enjoyable afternoon
