Former Tottenham winger Ricketts released by Toronto FC

Former Tottenham Hotspur winger Rohan Ricketts has had his spell at Toronto FC prematurely ended on Wednesday.

The 26-year old had his contract terminated by the club after reaching a release agreement.

After spending all of his career in England, Ricketts landed in Toronto in April 2008 and initially impressed at Major League Soccer level but soon fell out of favour and was pushed down the pecking order.

This caused Ricketts to feel frustrated as he shared on his Twitter page, "sitting around earning money and not playing games."

Mariners coach Lawrie Ferguson   ;D has offered Rickets a two week trial.

I got the info from another site. I thought as it was tribal football that it was crap but your right it doesn't mention a trial.

Only after I realised I had been had. I do know the guy that posted it as we have been to a Mariners game together. He was fishing and I was biting.
