ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

As Sage himself points out Perth have no spots left but we do...and Kewell is not after the $.

Thoughts on Kewell at Mariners? There's no deniying his ability, what about the cultural fit? I guess Kewell & Arnie's relationship would be the other big factor.

Not that's it's being talked about at the moment anyway

Firstly, having seen Arnie and Kewell together at the Victory game last season I suspect that the media stories are just that.

Secondly, Harry would still have a lot to offer - I thought he was on another level (not that hard) to most of the Victory players last year.

Thirdly, Harry at the time of the Sydney Blues consortium was keen to develop a 'world-class' academy where he would attract sponsors to offset costs so that the family of talented young players would not have to choose between mormal living costs and supporting their kid's dreams. If he was interested in aligning this ideal with the Centre of Excellence then my interest would be a lot greater.

That said - I'd rather Harry went to Perth. Though to be honest I think that Harry going to Perth on a guest stint is not ideal. If Sage is serious he should look at paying one of his U23 players outside the cap and squad limit and bringing in Harry on a full contract.

The only way I could see Kewell at the Mariners is as a guest - although I don't know the rules of using guest players. If, for argument's sake, Kewell, who is not fully fit, trained with Mariners until January and then joined on a guest stint and then was later named in our extended ACL squad I could see logic to it for HK's sake as it would have him playing enough football for Holger to consider him for the Socceroos. From Arnie's point of view it gives him an experienced player for the ACL. It could work but it is a very long shot: wouldn't hurt at the turnstiles.

I don't believe that HK would benefit mariners. He's had his moment and imo,he did nothing special while at MV.He would also decrease the hopes of any game time of our very talented youth (Birnie,Duke,Caceres)which I believe will contribute to the team a lot more than HK.

He'd play in Sterj's spot wide on the left if we did sign him. Seems far more likely he's going to Perth though.

Heavens it would give PG some fire power when Smeltz is back... as for a guess stint on the Coast ... any time I get a chance to see Harry play I would go...

In our team more see him as the striker up front holding the ball in our new formation..
