Mods not sure if this should go in the transfer and rumour thread but it is such big news.

This will ensure bills are paid and could see a relationship develop...

DUTCH club FC Utrecht want to strengthen their blossoming relationship with Brisbane Roar by buying a stake in the A-League franchise.

Utrecht have become fond of the Roar after purchasing three Brisbane players – Tommy Oar, Michael Zullo and Adam Sarota – in the off season for $1.8 million, money that proved to be vital in securing the ailing Roar's future.

Young guns Oar and Sarota have already played first-team football for the Eredivisie outfit, with Utrecht understood to be keen on establishing a feeder club relationship with the Roar.

In return, Brisbane could become home to a Utrecht player unable to cement a first-team spot in Holland.

Talks are at an advanced stage, with Utrecht officials expected to be in Brisbane by November to inspect the club.

Brisbane board members will also fly to to Holland's fourth-largest city to potentially seal the deal.

The difference between shitfield and utrecht is the dutch team wants to "buy" a share and there by having to commit on a regular basis to putting in more money. Now I call that a bit of stability for the Roar and with that financial input Utrecht will be making sure they get value for money so they will impose(sorry suggest) their methods for a successful club and that can only be good for the league.

yes but theyre duds i.e unable to get first team play consistently, would still be better than the majority id wager.
i think there are some serious differences between this deal and the other two mentioned the former a disaster
the latter seemingly non existent
