The only reason we wouldn't need a marquee is if there are no gaps or lapses in our team.

At the moment we have:-

an incompetent back line
no DM
no AM
no captain to speak of
a front line that's as skittish as a mare on heat

So yeah, I think it's pretty bloody obvious we need a marquee.

I'd say AM - time that our team carries the fear that some of the teams with the established and known creative attackers are.  Pity there aren't any good ones that we could afford....

f**k I miss Kwassie - at least he was a creative workhorse (on the few occasions that Lawrie showed the brains to realise he's an AM and not a striker).

I even miss him than Jedi, I think - after all, what use is a DM when nobody in the 4 behind him could stop a sink with a plug, and Danny's about as agile off the mark as a f**king prop with legs like a 7/11's front doors - never close?  If you can't stop goals you may as well bloody figure out how to score them.

Not only do we need a marquee player to improve our team but also to bring more people back through the turnstiles. I'd be looking for a defender, someone who can work well with Danny and has the leadership and talent to inspire and improve what has become a very ordinary defence.

Dietmar Hamann is 35 y.o so he would be fairly cheap, if Edgar Davids is on a pay as you play he would be dirt cheap!!

Fact is that we need better players, not necessarily a Marquee to pump up the crowds.

If a player we wanted, qualified for Marquee status and we couldn't get him other wise, then yes, have him declared Marquee by the FFA and away we go!
