ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I apologize if this subject is mentioned somewhere else, but is there is any news on  the Mariner's request to take David Carney on loan, it was mentioned a little while back, but haven't heard what's come of it.

For  purely selfish reasons I would like the opportunity to watch him play here, although I think he really should follow Verbeek's advice and move to somewhere like Holland or Germany.

This is my first post by the way. I've been impressed by the Mariners have played this season, they seem to be one of the few teams to have improved from last season.

Mariner Mick,

With your contacts at the club, would it be possible to find out whether the club are still interested in getting David Carney on loan and if so have they had any answer from Sheffield United.

I personally think he's wasting his time there & the sooner he gets out the better.

I think he'd be wasting his time at the Mariners equally so. Why would such an awesome player turn out for such a dire club?

You have to be kidding dont you! Which club is playing in the richest AFC competition next season??????
If you describe CCM that way how to you describe SFC because they are worse off at present.

Carney and his left foot would be playing regular football in the EPL if he was awesome Jaza.

A move to the HAL in general would be a step backwards, I guess at least a european club wanted him unlike some arrogant ex-sydney tosser!

It would be nice to get him as all of my mates back in Sheffield struggle to work out why he is not playing regularly.  I think the biggest problem would be the wage bill given what he would be paid over there and the current exchange rate I don't think it would stack up.

Carney on loan would be a welcomed edition. Let's hope this comes to fruition and is the first of many future loans with our sister club Sheffield Utd.

Latest rumour is that Sheffield want to loan him out in January to their sister club in Hungary, they are in the second division there, I think the Mariners would be a better option.

Good to see where we sit in the pecking order of sister clubs with Sheffield United.

Anybody else starting to think this arangement is all show and no go?

Sorry - I don't rate him. The HAL defenders figured him out in V1 and he goes missing at LB. Let him stay OS

He has omproved considerably since going to Europe..I think the time there has taught him a lot, and he has been good in the National games as well I thought. With so few genuine LBs we need to foster the ones we have and do anything to improve them so that they can serve well at a NATIONAL level.

Its easy to read that way but think of it another way. If Carney came here and there was an injury back in Sheffield then its a bloody long way to get him back. I think they probably chose Hungary as its closer if they need him back plus he would still be on the continent and if they wanted to sell him he's already there... (I'm not saying we aren't getting a rough deal here just there may be more behind this one)
