ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Closing in on Kwassie's goal scoring record

Matty Simon's tally has moved to 14 goals in A-League games for the Mariners while Hutcho moves to 12.

Just 1 and 3 off Kwassy respectively and you can imagine will be broken in the next few weeks.

most of kwassie's goals came from midfield, tbf. he's still a chance to come back in and defend his record too...

I think his tally is heavily padded out with penalties and he only got switched to midfield because he was poor upfront in front of the posts.
Simon is far better striker with a much better ratio.

he scored 4 penalties in 06/07 which obviously means he's scored 11 from open play, but that's more penalties than anyone else has scored for the club. yet people complain that he took the one against sydney...

he's not done too badly at all, and his open play goals to games record would compare favourably with some of our other midfield players - caceres, gumps, even possibly tommy and mile.

And Faulty Bolty proved the form by stopping another one. Admittedly neither one would rank as the best penalty you've ever seen taken, but he still had to get his mitts on them.

Yeah but how many spectators has he knocked unconscious? Trains derailed? Palm trees felled? Cars taken out on bridge? Lawn bowlers struck?

lol, I can't remember which game it was (one we needed to win, a couple of seasons ago), he missed 3 or 4 sitters, the balls probably ended up in the lawn bowls green .. yikes my homicidal tendencies began to emerge that night.
