ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Charlesworth's Big Plans

Central Coast Mariners saviour Mike Charlesworth says the A-League champion needs to stop playing the underdog card and embrace the mantle of being “the best” in the land.

I noticed the switch in attitude around the middle of last season with Arnie's press conferences, and then especially with the last ACL game.
The boys have played as if they can't be beaten, and it's a good message to send out to fans and potential fans.
Good stuff IMO.

Upon opening this thread and reading the source, my immediate thought was 'Which small Australian town are we moving to now'

But it's a good idea. We are the best at the moment and long may it continue!

. much better article that ... i think charlesworth is starting choose his words better

. but this one brought my internal cynic to the surface:

Charlesworth, who rejected a $4 million offer from South Melbourne’s backers to take control of the club because it would have meant losing the franchise from Gosford

... perhaps if it was $10m things would have been different. apparently he has already thrown double that (3+5) at the club to pay off debts and has only just gained control. is he going to give that up so cheaply?

... also he would still probably be left with the coe commitment without a club to actually make it useful

... the fact that it didn't make business sense has nothing to do with keeping the team on the coast
