CHANNEL Nine is about to launch a new soccer program, hoping to cash in on the huge number of juniors playing the game. Soccer hasnt featured on mainstream commercial television since the 1990s and this is a significant move to attract a wider audience. The show is called Football Stars of Tomorrow and will be hosted by Stephanie Brantz, the wife of Fox Sports commentator Simon Hill. The show will feature coaching tips, health and fitness advice and carry interviews with many of our European-based Socceroos, including Lucas Neill, Mark Schwarzer, Tim Cahill, Vince Grella, Brett Emerton and Harry Kewell. The first episode is on June 28 at 2pm

Stephanie Branz is an excellent choice every time I go and what the Choppers (SFC) play she is their with her kids She is a football person from the tip of her head to her toes talks well and will do an great job I am sure this is a small but important step on the way to mainstream media acceptance.

Um, "Football Stars Of Tomorrow" is on SBS like, once a week...

So they've just bought it from SBS? And added a host..

Stephanie Brantz will give the show a red hot go. She is a thorough professional and as you said, very interested in Football.

So long as she has a fair say in what goes to air, and is not just someone 'f**kable' to put to air (as one chief programmer famously said once about female presenters..  ::) ..) to 'top and tail' the segments, and the show doesn't end up as an infomercial for a private Football Clinic, all will be well.

Stephanie Brantz has a lot to offer. Very knowledgeable in sports overall. Was disappointed when she was dropped for her former spot. Always felt that she was denied a more expansive role. Anyway, I hope it works out for her and the C9 show is a success. Just hope it doesn't turn out to be another "footy show".

I think I have already read about this before. It will be included as part of a WWOS afternoon show. I don't think there is a long-term commitment - I think it was for 6-8 weeks. Maybe that has changed with WC qualifications.

Hopefully this will be even better than the 3 previous seasons, Stephanie Brantz is an excellent choice as host.

Good to see Steph given a go! I'm interested to see how the show is presented. If well, is another positive step. As long as channel 7 are never allowed to have there cameras anywhere near a round ball I will be happy. Nobody screws football like VII
