ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

CCM taking control of CCMA

Not really surprised to be honest...

13th September 2013

CCMA Players, Parents, Coaches and supporters and CCF Clubs

Dear All,

As you are aware for the 2013 season Central Coast Football (CCF) operated a club in the both National Premier League and Women’s Premier League under the playing brand of “Central Coast Mariners Academy” (CCMA). CCF operated this club to ensure a development pathway for players and is pleased to announce that through this initiative some half a dozen local players have been signed by the Central Coast Mariners in their National Youth League team.

However, whilst we are very proud of this achievement, we always felt that the elite development program for the Central Coast was best delivered by the Central Coast Mariners A-League Club (The Mariners) and when The Mariners were in a position to do so we would transfer ownership of CCMA to The Mariners.

As a result of ongoing discussions we wish to advise you all that we have signed a Heads of Agreement with The Mariners and as a result the ownership of CCMA will transfer to Central Coast Mariners Pty Ltd on 1st October 2013.

CCF staff responsible for the delivery of the CCMA program will transfer to The Mariners and CCF will continue to make Pluim Park available to the Mariners for the delivery of this program.

This is an exciting time for elite development on the Central Coast as the Mariners head coach Graham Arnold will directly oversee the coaching and development in the program and will and have direct input into player development along with his coaching staff.

We would like to thank you all for your support in the 2013 season.

Yours Sincerely
Darren Sprod
Chairman

Good news I think. We'll mean kids and their parents will be more likely to join up if the link to the Mariners A-League side is more legit, what with rumours of parents pulling their kids out to join Sydney based teams.

Very good news, should also see a fee reduction from CCF as they won't need to charge the levy for the rep teams.

I've heard on the grapevine that fees would be going up next year more in line with Sydney clubs. I'm not expecting CCM to subsidize the kids any time soon.

Cost isn't nearly as big an issue as perceived quality in these programs. If they can charge a little more but offer a little more, the punters will take it.

The market is dealing with a price cap, so price is no longer the chief competitive criterion, it's quality.

Appears commonsense maybe breaking out across the Coast ... heaven forbid ... me thinks it will help to represent such a large community group in the stadium rights bid ...

A complete break down of all fees should be issued with every registration .That includes FFA.FNSW & Local association

FNSW publish their financial statements every year. Bottom of the home page under reports. No pot of gold there.
Most clubs survive on selling sausage sandwiches
FFA aren't splashing any cash around either.

Can they do better? I guess so but with the current resources (FNSW/FFA staff skill set) they're breaking even at best.

Check the insurance figures.
The MO of old was to overcharge the kids on the Insurance then cop a nice sponsorship from the insurance company.
Old habits are hard to break
