Middy told me we were looking at a couple of Asian players, so that is exciting.

Skilful quick players are exactly what we are lacking so fingers crossed.

Ryuji Miyazawa

Does he have a nickname? Thats going to be difficult to say before the game when the crowd calls out the names of the players and what am I going to yell out when he's gracefully gliding past the opposition?

NSWPL meh

As long as he's not in his mid-30s it's not like it's a major issue... Everyone has to start somewhere...
Let's be honest, to some extend, we're really just Blacktown City's first team and A-league representation anyway, that tradition has given us some excellent talent, so no reason to not keep it going ;)

Seemingly this guy's been a pretty proficient goal scorer, when he's played... Just can't work out how old he is or if he's really any good... Don't really do the NSWPL meself ;)

Yeah who would want another Jedinak...
I think Kevin Keegan also played for Blacktown. :) I have no issues at all taking a bit of a risk on a rough diamond if this is Kwassies replacement. For Flores though we will need someone with proven quality...if one can be found at this stage and i'm dreaming of a Tommy Rogic return. Think i probably am dreaming though. For Neill's replacement we could do worse than bring back Brad MacDonald as cover for Rosey. I always liked what i saw of him, which wasnt much admittedly. There is also Troy Hearfield, i know there was some talk of a possible return this year.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!...

All due respect for Troy Hearfield, but I think we have plenty of forwards who can't hit the target, why add another one - especially a converted RB ;) - when we need a creative midfielder?...

I'm sure he's a nice fellah, but I just don't see him bringing anything to the team... At all... In most cases, I actually thought we looked worse, not better, for changing him in when he played.

Troy is a good utility player and i think we have about 4 spots available. He is able to play right back, midfield or as a forward. He would cost us next to nothing and at worst would be a good squad player. Yes we still need a quality replacement for Marcos and another for Kwassie. I'd have Troy back.

Hmm, I suppose that's a fair point... My concern is just that, off the top of my head, I can count on one hand, the number of times Arnies played him as anything other than a forward and at least one of those times, I think it was because hat-man had either hurt himself or gotten himself sent carded as usual and we didn't have anyone else on the bench to put on in stead.

If Moss were to use him as a squaddie covering more roles, then I guess you could be right...

My last match report where he played. No photo sorry. http://back-of-the-net.com/2011-2012/NSW/PL-R4-BSvsBD.htm

Kevin Keegan & Peter Beardsley had guest stints with Blacktown.
I spoke to Beardsley a few years ago when I was visiting Newcastle & he remembers his time there with fondness.

I thought Arnie had held a spot for Hearfield when he had completed his ban; it is why we only had 22 players registered.
As for Miyazawa, he can hardly be match fit can he?
