ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Bye Bye Ritchie

Richie Benaud
Signing off ... Richie Benaud, the voice of cricket in Australia for nearly half a century, will retire from all cricket commentary.

Benaud let the revelation slip in a radio interview with 2GBs Chris Smith today.

Benaud said: "Ill be doing Australian cricket next year 2010 but I dont do any television at all anywhere else now and when I finish next year, then Ill be doing other things.

"But thatll be no more television commentary."

Benaud began work in television after retiring from an illustrious playing career in 1964.

He worked extensively for Channel 9 in Australia, as well as the BBC and Channel 4 in the UK.

Famous for his beige jackets and witty remarks, Benaud retired from English commentary after the infamous Ashes series of 2005.

Just...wow. Ritchie makes the cricket..it's not a summer if I haven't seen Ritchie on the tv. Will be a massive change, and a massive loss for the cricketing community.

I wonder who can replace him in the bone, the white, the off white, the ivory or the beige.

Mark Nicholas? hardly rubbish.

Adam Gilchrist? just might have an idea about modern cricket seeing as he's only recently retired.

Even Healy, and Slater..

I will agree that Chappell, Lawry are rubbish

Is Gilly commentating? I missed that.

Somethign about Healy commentating the match annoys me..same with Slats. Healy is a good replacement for doing the 'key test' and that's abuot it...for my entertainment anyway.

i really like nicholas, healy, gilchrist and warne when he's there. i'm also a fan of chappeli - he has an opinion, which is pretty novel in what is often a pretty boring commentary box.

i really don't like slater, taylor, lawry or greig.

Richie is barely on these days anyway - When he is tho he is by far the best, slats is a clown , as is heals and tubbs... they should replace them all with the abc radio comm team.... they know what they are on about...

QFT - he is far better looking than some of the others.
They have heads on them that would haunt houses. (and voices to match!)

but slater's faaaarking shit!

disagree - think him and nichols are the best
Agreed Mick. Slater is great! I like his sports show on 2ky in the morning as well. I love Warnes insight into the game as well he has such a great cricket mind. Probably the best cricketer never to be the full time captain of his country.

If doing the commentating was based purely on looks, willow would get the job straight up
