Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

What's the ultimate hangover cure?

Mine is a Maccas cheeseburger, and post-mix coke. Mmmm.

My friend swears by chipolata sausages. I'm not that classy.

lol, chipolatas being classy

berocca before you go out with a massive drink of water, berocca when you go to bed with a massive glass of water (if you remember drunk) and a berocca in the morning

depletion of vitamin B is a killer and gives you most of the grief with a hangover, coupled with dehydration

Large special fried rice
Large chocolate milk
4 nurofen

You think you are about to die and then immediately feel ok

(A pint of water and a good spew before bed is a help too)

Haha Mick, I actually have a condition where my body doesn't store vitamins at all, so a lot of the time I feel hungover even without drinking...if I do have alcohol, I have to have some stuff to make me feel LESS hungover, and sick (If I don't, I have a like, 3 day hangover...tis shit).

Anyone ever done the beer on weet-bix breakfast? Its amazing. Beer on fruitloops..not so much...

Mine is kfc.  A couple of pieces of chicken, some chips, and a can of pepsi (MUST be a can).

If I'm really, really hungover I'll just eat the skin and leave the chicken...

what mick said, plus eggs.

i read in a nerd mag years ago that one of the big issues is that your liver and the rest struggle to get through the amount of methanol in your drinks (which is toxic, but can be metabolised in small amounts and exists in small amounts in many common drinks along with ethanol). you metabolise methanol first, but it happens very slowly. while there's methanol to be dealt with, your body doesn't get rid of the ethanol at all (so you still have too much ethanol as well, which is less toxic but still not good). that's one of the reasons why you still feel drunk.

the magic of eggs is that they have in them a protein that helps the body deal with methanol more effectively and thus get rid of the ethanol quickly too - hangover goes away more quickly.

if i'm wrong (and there's every chance i am, i'm going off recollections of something i read probably ten years ago) i'd love to be corrected, but as i understand it that's the reason why eggs are great on a hangover.

my choice - sausage and egg muffin if going cheap, a nice ham, cheese and onion omlette with buttery toast and a flat white i could fit my head in if going less cheaply.

there is always the option of smashing a half a dozen fewer beers too...

The only thing that works is hair of the dog.

But that just delays the inevitable for a while.

If I've been a good boy and treated the Mrs nice she'll keep the kids away from me and let me sleep until it goes away. :)

Oh. can't let this Thread slip by without putting this up.  ;D

I remember seeing this sketch when it went to air and getting nauseous thinking about drinking that 'bomb'.

Classic Australian humour & the behind the scenes stories about that sketch reckoned that both Hoges & Cornell were actually a bit seedy that day & Hoges did hurl when he saw Cornell swallow that concoction first go. :vomit:

Should get me to cook you a famous 10-egg omlette.

They're amazing. Actually, I don't even know. I don't eat eggs...but I've been told they're awesome. (And yes Bear, I know I owe you one but you moved and I don't have a fridge atm to store eggs etc...)
