ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Attention: We need you help

I would like any help that anyone can offer to help out on a unofficial Sheffield United FC website called Blades-Mad (www.blades-mad.co.uk).

As noted recently the English outfit have made connections with Centeral Coast Mariners and as part of our website we would like someone with more knowledge about CCM than us (we know nothing) to write match reports for the site.

I'm not sure how much you know about our club but to give a little insight, we were formed on 22 March 1889 by a commitee who ran a cricket club, the ground which we still play on today was built as a cricket ground in 1850's and is the oldest ground in the World to be still used.

United have won the Footall League once (now Premier League) in 1898 and won the FA Cup four times (1899, 1901, 1915 & 1925). Although majoritly successful the club has a huge reputation and is a household name. Our club squad are successding as we would like but hope that next season we can build and show willing to win promotion to the top Division.

Of our notable players we have David Carney on our books, who I hope needs no introduction after being named Aussie Player of the Year by FourFourTwo magazine.

Our site is purely unofficial but raked in over 3.5M hits throughout 207 and is expected to almost double this year (we hope). We would like, that with the clubs involvment in the foreign market to introduce fans of their club to help us fans in England to give a better understanding.

Sheffield United have, since January 2006 owed a club in China. The Chengdu Blades have recently won promotion to their Premier League and hope that this season they will stay in top flight and eventually mount a challenge for the Champions. The Blades have also traded links with Hungarian club Fencesvaros and the club won their first game 4-0 last weekend under the new leadership of the English club.

Anyone interested in helping us can contact us at: http://www.sheffieldunited-mad.co.uk/feedback/loadcont.asp?cid=EMED

A warm welcome to the Marinators!
I'm sure there will be a few of us who will be willing to write match reports and such - my journalism skills are a little rusty though :)

Would a stitch-up for content between sheffieldunited-mad and BOTN be possible do you think?

or...

we could possibly sort out a match report system on here, and then have RSS or similar feeds over to the bladesmen? that'd be particularly helpful for the youth team where there'll be very little other content available.

then we've got our own problem of having someone actually going and watching all of their games though! home is fine, but away matches in perth and adelaide would be especially difficult unless we do tie-up deals between clubs, or unless we have contacts in the town!

First grade games wouldn't be any problem, with TV coverage, but yeah, youth games could be tricky.
I'm quite sure I'll attend almost (if not) all home games though.

Anyone can 'syndicate' our reports as long as they are referenced to the source, and the writer given the 'by line', and are used in a football positive context.

We are always looking for amateur (ie. unpaid) writers of reports or 'colour' pieces or opinion - I am sure people are sick of reading my shit and my back-up Corinthian is now our writer in Asia.  If anyone knows of a writer in Perth let me know, and if Galaxy get in we'll need one on the Gold Coast (what a gig eh?)

Writers of youth league games will also be welcome - although we will try to have an overview and one feature game a week.

I would welcome any form of help on the site, I wouldn't mind if someone wrote a report which would appear on another site as well as mine, as long as correct copyright procedure is alright then I have no problem with that.
