ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I'm not fully up to speed with all the doodah with the Mariners being from the UK, but has anyone got anything against Arnold or do you wish him the best at SFC? (As long as they are below CCM of course)

I have heard that he said he would not leave to or manage another A-League club.. please correct me if I'm wrong... but he did steer the Mariners to the title and has established them in the league (Am I allowed to say us? I mean I follow CCM as much as my club Wolves)

I have very mixed feelings.
I'd probably shake his hand and then punch him in the face.....or maybe the other way around.

Yeah he said that, and the club only let him leave to manage overseas and further his career, and he takes our best player with him. Then he comes back with his tail between his legs and we had moved on the best we could and he takes the job down the road, takes our NEXT best player, and Wee-Mac then refuses to come back to us after the failed Japan saga.
He screwed us, royally. Jog on is a nice way to put it.

let him out of a 3 year contract free too, to immediately fail and return to a fierce rival, disrupting or near pinching some of our best players and no 'thanks for everything' comments anywhere

Sydney punish poor results quickly. he's a good coach but the culture and team spirit at the mariners make up for a lot of our results. if he doesn't get results at Sydney he'll get an early jog on from there

Was a legend & then pissed on all his hard work in 6 months.
Legend to Loser.

Will be hearing some very colourful language on his return to Blue Tongue.

Not only are SFC an ememy they are Rich (the worst kind of enemy) & he is using those riches to pillage us. Worse the perennial under achieves are going to be a dangerous team under his tutelage.

Don't quite think he'll have the same level of control at SFC as he did here. Also doubt the squad harmony will be anything like what he had here. Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see them struggle.

SFC people quite impressed with them holding their shape against MacArthur Rams.
5-1 victory vs. 1-1 the year before (obviously some reasons for this as well)
Lets see how they fair in NZ.
Although after Franky any team would look better

To be fair he held our club together through arguably its darkest hour ... he went so far as to lend some players money...

He developed a number of talented kids and many have gone on to better things...

He should have won the grand final we lost to Brisbane with a much weaker side than they had..

He won a grand final ...

He has us play some very good Football in the ACL...

His reward was if he received an offer to coach overseas he would be let go...

He called in his get out card... at this point much back slapping and good luck..

He then took the clubs trainer and best player ... not so happy now but at least they have good pay in overseas clubs..

Things did not work out and he took a position with SFC a team he would never have been released to .. he then took our best player who had already agreed verbally to stay with us and used his personal relationship to secure the move to SFC..

The issue is he has abused knowledge of our club .. all would be fine if he finished his contract .. BUT he was released with this information to develop and overseas career not to plunder and raid the countries smallest club by the countries richest club...

In summary he betrayed the trust he left with and then took almost a Murdock like view of the hand we had played ..

TBH from an Australian Football stance I am glad the Flying Circus finally have a decent coach / manager ... from a Mariners stance I am pissed because he has taken full advantage nay abused a privileged position we gave him on trust..

In summary without his guidance and astute judgement at the hight of our salary issues we may not have a club and this can never be taken away from his achievements.... however his actions after he has left have smelt from on high ..

Hi CCMFCUK - you may already know this but just in case you don't you can watch all A League games live on BT Sports - free if you are a BT Broadband subscriber; available also as BT Sports via Sky Sports which means easy to record if you have a Sky box.
Arnie left a legacy of a successful and feared club but has since turned his back on it and now doesn't give a stuff about it. We admire what he gave us but are very annoyed at his taking key players and staff. Moss did well to take the Mariners to third last season after being handed the most inhospitable of hospital passes from Arnie and this season now has the added attraction of some very spicy clashes with SFC. He will do well at Sydney; the Mariners simply have to do better.

Perfectly put Roy. The games next season will be spicy that's for sure. I know Mossy was pretty upset with the Bernie saga. He will be primed for those games.

I watched every Mariners game on BT Sport, its good coverage! I'm currently saving up to visit Australia.. hopefully to come to a Mariners game!

I think if the Mariners do better this year its the best way to stick it up Arnold, Sydney expect high finishes and silverware. So IMO I don't think he will do fantastic straight away... and then have the pressure from the SFC fans and media like every manager does.

took me a couple of posts to realise your name was ccmfc UK and not ccm fcuk, which did seem an odd choice
