ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Did anyone else just watch that ? God so painful but it was so good at the same time ..what an amazing advert for the game ....credit to roar where it's due ...so keen for the next season

I couldn't bring myself to watch it.

I... just... couldn't.

I no longer think about that game every waking hour, but when I do, it still hurts - really bad.

Call me soft or whatever... but I'm still not completely over that afternoon. Adding salt to the wound is the fact that the off season is 5 months long.

If that had been against the Scum I think I would have gone and hung myself.

Will lol massively if Mariners get to the GF next season, are 3-0 down then stage a Liverpool-style comeback in the second half. If any team is going to do it, it would be us. Would LOVE it to be against the Tards, Sydney or the Scum.

Mariners fans will forever suffer the pain as long as the FFA wants practically every other team in the A-League bar us to get their 5 minutes of glory- unless/ until the Bears NRL bid gets accepted. Even GCU are more important to that lot than us.

I've wiped those few hours from my memory bank from consuming copious amounts of alcohol. As to the Bears they will never get up on the Coast. They have lost their major backer Mortgage House and the NRL/ARL has made it quite clear in discussions that they do not want another Sydney centric team. In other words "tell em their dreamin"

No, MH are still in as the major sponsor. And Gallop has been meeting with the bid team on a fairly regular basis and it is looking very encouraging.

As for next season, I wonder if GCU will get some lucky results going their way? Just considering how crap the Titans are going and the new AFL team up there to boot. Would be funny to see GCU lifting the toilet seat in a stadium chock full of 6,000 people!

I believe that you'll find MH are not the major sponsor and signs are not encouraging at all. :eek:verhead:

I wouldn't take anthing from the News Limited press regarding the Bears bid too seriously.

As for GCU winning the GF, I would cry if it was us they beat. I can't rule it out, because even GCU are more important in the eyes of the FFA than we are. We were admitted for novelty value, and they hate that we keep doing our best to interfere with their plans of gifting success to the teams from their key markets. Adelaide and Perth are due silverware too.

Oh stop the conspiracy crap - the FFA don't plot for us to lose all the time.

Gotta love a good conspiracy theory

I'm sure it's all part of The Master Plan, to admit the Mariners into a multi-million dollar competition with high expectations of failure, and do everything on their part to make sure that failure happens as often as possible, making all of us Coasties look like incompetent fools!

What ever FFA's plans were for the initial 8th team (CCM) in the comp I bet they use the success of the Mariners across all departments as a set up sounding board for other entrants

The FFA want the Mariners in the comp, but not if it stops the likes of Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane winning silverware- or a team whose local AFL/ NRL side is in turmoil and is in a peak position to capitalise on it with Premiership/ Grand Final glory.

What a privilege to have been there, in yellow. It hurt, it hurts, but not as much as the two in Sydney. Well played Roar.

The most memorable (so to speak) part of it for me was when Arnold compared it to Iran '97 - the look on his face said it all. That game will haunt him - and I imagine everyone else involved that night - for the rest of their lives.

....Or until the Mariners win the toilet seat. Watching them do just that, on a sunny afternoon in a sold-out Bluetongue stadium, would be just the exorcism. Hopefully against Sydney or the Tards or the Scum. It's like having your heart broken by a failed relationship or two- then finding the love of your life and keeping them.

^ Mind you, I would take watching the Mariners come-back in similar fashion to these two memorable finals, in the GF, against the Scum, at Ausgrid, in a heartbeat. And probably jizz my pants several times in the process...
