It seems we are guaranteed at least a playoff for an ACL spot for next season.

In a major change, Mr Gallop confirmed that two Australian teams would automatically qualify for the group stages in Asia in 2014 (the second automatic qualifier will be decided during the A-League finals beginning on April 5). It is a boost for the Australian competition, given only one automatic qualifier, the Central Coast Mariners, competed in this year’s ACL.

Scenario 2 – Premiers and Champions are the same Club
ACL Spot 1 Premiers, Champions
ACL Spot 2 2nd in the regular season
ACL Spot 3 3rd in the regular season

Scenario 3 – Champions and 2nd in the regular season are the same Club
