WESTERN Sydney Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas has condemned the behaviour of those supporters who lit flares on the weekend with the strongest possible rebuke of their behaviour.
The A-League club have been issued with a “show cause” notice by Football Federation Australia and threatened with the loss of points over the behaviour of some of their travelling fans at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.
The detonation of flares has put the A-League on the front and back pages once again and Tsatsimas did not hold back in criticising the culprits from the Wanderers’ away clash with Melbourne Victory.
“We’re in the process of responding to the FFA position but I won’t be waiting until Wednesday to tell all and sundry what our position is,” he said in an interview withSEN Radio.
“We have no tolerance for what was exhibited on the weekend.

“It was a clear display of petulance, belligerence and narcissism that we won’t accept.
“We’ve come a long way … but this is a ridiculous position we find ourselves in.
“We won’t relent until we eradicate that minority element from Wanderland and our travelling matches away.”
Active support, and the Wanderers’ Red and Black Bloc have become one of the hallmarks of the A-League in recent years.
Tsatsimas makes the distinction between the RBB and the club’s rogue elements, telling the trouble makers they’re not welcome.
“What we’ve got to be careful of is we don’t bundle all of the RBB or travelling away fans in one group,” Tsatsimas said.
“We’ve seen the people who have contributed to our club … we’ve got some fantastic members and the Wanderers are known for their fantastic fan support.
“The RBB is different to those morons in that group that act like idiots.

“Those in the RBB comply and make for an entertaining day at a Wanderers match. We’re certainly proud of them.
“But the time has come now we need to get to that next level, where we won’t tolerate that behaviour.”
He added: “Those things (flares) are illegal … we don’t want them.
“They jeopardise the safety of our patrons and they take away from our sport.
“It’s just non-civil behaviour that is not acceptable in any realm.
“If you don’t want to partake in a football match in Australia in a proper way, take your pyrotechnic displays away from our game, leave our people alone, leave our sport alone, get the hell away.”
Western Sydney have been working hard to find solutions at Pirtek Stadium, but it’s harder to track trouble makers using away trips to cause trouble.
“The problems are there are opportunities for non-members to travel away and act in an irresponsible and unaccountable manner,” he said.
“It doesn’t make it easy for us but we won’t be stopping… “

Tsatsimas says this minority are not football fans – clearly shown by the fact that the behaviour doesn’t just tarnish the game’s reputation, but actually harms the team’s performance.
“It’s sad it’s got to that level – it impacts the players, the coach, the administration and the fans,” he said.
“I remember three occasions, one a derby, one on the weekend and one a Champions League game … where the detonation of the flares has contributed to a goal against us.
“It not only impacts upon our reputation, it impacts the boys on the field. They’re not supporters – it’s all about them.”

Boris (shaved head far left), the former Capo who had left for Overseas but is apparently back, has a 'lit-flare' directly beneath him and his mates ('The Black Shirts) in the front row.
So did someone rip a flare somewhere else in the Bay and then walk down and chuck it under the front row ???

With Western Sydney Wanderers facing possible Football Federation Australia sanctions in the wake of flares being released during the Round 18 game with Melbourne Victory, a club member called on the Red and Black Bloc to show their passion by putting the team first.
Tensions between Western Sydney Wanderers' active fans, the RBB, and Melbourne Victory's 'South End' boiled over with both supporter's groups attempting to prove their supremacy as Australia's staunchest.
FFA issued the Wanderers a show cause notice on Monday after flares were lit during Saturday's clash against Victory at Etihad Stadium.
A Wanderers fan, who has been a member since the club's inception in 2012, hailed the importance of the RBB but insisted there is no need for flares and anti social behaviour at games.
"The RBB are undoubtedly the best active supporter group of any team in any sporting code in Australia. They create the best atmosphere week in week out and we love them," he said.
"They don't need flares to create the best atmosphere in the code, they don't need that sort of stuff that's going to put other people's welfare at risk.
"What happened on Saturday crossed the line, it was selfish.
"It's frustrating because A-League supporters did an amazing job to rally together and get the FFA to make positive change and situations like Saturday undo all of that hard work."
Opinions have been divided over how FFA should respond to the issue, with some calling for compeition points to be deducted, while others believe the Wanderers don't deserve to be punished for the conduct of their fans.
Some Wanderers fans suggested coach Tony Popovic and the players reach out to the RBB in a bid to prevent future incidents.
"FFA can't control this issue, it has to come from internally, It has to come from the active supporter groups they have to wake up and put the team first," a Wanderers fan said.
"The fact they love the Wanderers so much I think if the message comes directly from Popovic and the players then I think the message will spill through to the rest of the RBB."

Fined $50k and a suspended 3 point loss.
Absolutely pathetic. $50k is nothing. Even competition points are not too big a deal, given it's unlikely to have any real outcome upon the GF (which is all anybody ever cares about). FFA looking after their baby, once again.
Imagine if it was CCM doing this!!! The entire population of the coast would be thrown into a gulag, forced to stich up soccer balls for the FFA to sell to China cheap!!

Have tickets to the Sydney derby. Hopefully will be there to see those roided up narcissistic arseholes stuff it up.

Not just that but it even appears as if the BRB leaders are the ones with the flares/detonators.
The FFA just needs to come forward with proof for all the bans now and there should be no complaints.

This all completely justifies the FFA blaming the club for their actions. The club need to put pressure on the supporters group. If the RBB are promoting criminal behaviour (as they always have), then the club need to be dealing with this. That's why it's reasonable to punish the club for the actions of the spectators.
They're too ignorant and self-centred though to realise that they consistently justify the actions of the FFA that they whinge hardest about.
