Silvera off to Portugal. They came 13th in their top division last year if anyone is curious.

So Sammy Silvera has been sold to a decent side in the Portuguese first division. Very good league for him to go and develop. I wish him the best. Most importantly we get a fee.
The biggest question here is, does mike pocket that or does he sanction it for Staj to spend?
And secondly how much do we think we got?
I know for a fact he’s joining a upper middle table side and the clubs in Portugal aside from the big 3 don’t have much $$$ to throw around, I reckon we got about $250k max

I hope a decent cash injection for the club. A player with great potential...
In the current climate and reduced foxtel funding I think we'll see more clubs looking for the smaller win upfront than hanging on for a big sale. Silvera still could go either way and there's no guarantee he'd get there in his time with us, better to take the sale now and look at our other emerging players like Ruiz Diaz, Kuol and anyone else putting their hand up to make that step in to the match day squad.

My biggest fear and worst case is this is MC taking a sale and squeezing some funds out before selling the license to be moved away from the coast.

I'm aware of that and can live with him trying to pick up a little more cash to cover his losses on the way out if the club stays at Gosford. It's the possibility of selling everything off because another region doesnt want them just our license that worries me.

TBH $250K for what he has done that is not bad money. Hope he is doing his law degree - he can join Kaz Patafta's practice.

Just quietly I’d be very, very surprised if it was anywhere near $250k. I don’t have any inside word on this one but my guess would be much, much closer to $100k and personally even then I would nearly snap their hand off to do a deal at that price. It’s a shitty covid market where clubs are going to be much more cautious in their spending, especially so for (relatively) unknown quantities like SS. Hopefully some nice sell on % fees added in!

Wasnt the highest but was top 10 - running about a lot doesnt actually make you a good footballer though

Stensness was right up there for number of tackles made for the year in any team which is probably the main factor in that rating.

I’d be more inclined to say Birraz followed by Ziggy for our POTY but we could do worse than recognising Stensness work rate.

He has now been loaned to Liga Pro (2nd level) club Casa Pia. Same club that Danny Choi joined for this season.

First match of the season Monday 14/9/20.
