ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

He just isn’t worth a visa slot or arguably the sort of money a player of his experience would be after here. If the Scots have more money to throw around more power to them but I don’t think we should be offering a renewal regardless of the terms.
Maybe he should talk to Laurie...

As soon as we have things are a little clearer I think we need to make a statement both literally and figuratively. Re-sign Birighitti (apparently Bulls first choice is Federici), sign a high quality visa AM and a high quality visa striker.

If we do that attracting other players becomes easier.

Just looked him up on wiki. I didn't realise he was that old. 35.
Hasn't played much lately.

Hopefully the hernia is better. Really hampered him towards the end
This whole suspension could be a blessing in disguise for him if it is. Fit and firing I'd be more than happy to see him offered an extension. But he simply wasnt where we needed him to be and its hard to tell from the outside if it was injury, application or a bit of both.

According to this Kim has gone home and we might not get him back either in time to restart or at all.

A-League’s foreign players caught offside without wages

Victory marquee Ola Toivonen is widely expected to join Swedish side Malmo.

They are the A-League’s forgotten foreign legion — the visa players who have not been paid a cent since mid-March, and yet will be expected to play again if the competition resumes as planned in July.
With foreign players excluded from the federal government’s JobKeeper program, visa signings at a majority of the A-League clubs have still been paid an equivalent sum by their employers since the league was suspended.

But the foreign players at Adelaide, the Mariners and Perth have not been paid, leaving them reliant in some cases on cash handouts from their union or on money sent from family in their homelands.
Some have told teammates that their health insurance has not been paid by their club — usually a condition of their visa — and others have found out from landlords that their accommodation is overdue. Others, such as those at the Mariners, were told they could access their superannuation.
Some visa players, such as Mariners defender Kim Eun-sun, have returned home during the A-League’s suspension and almost certainly won’t come back, at least in time for the final month of the season due to kick off on July 18.

They now have the right to sign elsewhere, with Melbourne Victory marquee Ola Toivonen widely expected to join Swedish side Malmo.
Others have preferred to stay here, given Australia’s relative success in controlling the coronavirus, even though in some cases they have been scrambling just to put food on the table.
In Britain, the government’s JobKeeper-style scheme includes foreign employees based in the UK, and a number of lower league clubs have used it.
There is the promise of some relief. As part of the pay deal agreed with Football Federation Australia and the A-League clubs last week, all players will receive a proportion of their usual wages for the next three months.
On top of that, JobKeeper payments will continue for domestic players but it is understood that the A-League players as a whole will aggregate the JobKeeper payments for the next three months and split them equally across all squad members, both Australian and foreign.
But with huge uncertainty over the status of the last three years of the A-League’s broadcast contract with Fox Sports, and no match-day income expected to be earned by clubs for many months, some of the players are not confident of the future.
“It was the clubs that brought us here, surely we are their responsibility?” said one. “In many cases we can’t leave, because there aren’t flights or they cost a fortune.”

This is just immoral to leave your employees stranded like this with no source of income.

And anyone asking people to dip into their super for daily expenses should have a long. hard look at their themselves.

I read that line as being foreigners could access it which for the likes of Kim, Duric, Jair or Ziggy if they've had to contribute to super would be fine. Once they leave Aus they can apply to get access to it anyway so no big deal suggesting that as an option. For someone like Mcglinchey its probably a grey area as he's been working here for a while and we dont know what his retirement plans are. I'm not sure if there's any discrepancy in whether Stensness is considered a local for A league rules and not for support like Job keeper but I dont think it would be right asking him to dip in to super and he wont have accumulated as much in his time here as the senior foreigners would have.

If the season does eventually restart we`re basically in "shitter`s ditch" and another wooden spoon looms large.
As fans we really need to stand united!
This team has fought bravely with the resources and roster we have.
They haven`t given up.
Let`s forget the past in-differences of active support and put on a united front.
Let`s stand together, cheer together and be as one...

Who are you suggesting?
It depends. If the borders don't open Wellington may not be able to play. Benefit of the NRL is most teams are on the east where as with HAL teams are all over the country. I think the season will resume, but it's not guaranteed. Hey, we might be better coming out of this, chins up

The Nix would just base themselves over here like the warriors have if needed. Not to mention they could forfeit each remaining game get docked 10 points and we still wouldn’t catch them.

Got more chance of the Chinese government telling Lee to pull funding to mess with us. Or Foxtel not reaching a deal and preventing a restart. And if that’s our best shot at avoiding a spoon we better get a spot ready in the draw.
