ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Practical ways to support CCM into a better future

2,000 members, club has a deficit to be competitive of probably $2m a season - everyone prepared to put in $1k a year? I suspect not
yeah but nobody asked . to have one of those green bay owner certificates .
to hand it down to your kids .wow
instead i went through the motions today . i got drunk and thoroughly hated the day .
why .because i can't do f**k all about the shit fest ,we've been handed .

a lot of people wouldn't have paid in . then again a lot of people would have

I would love a proper and serious fan ownership model to be put together. Of all the club's in the league you'd think we would be the best fit.
I hear this (though I couldn't see it working on the CC), but I think it's too late.
Anger may have driven it, but that was years ago. Too many have just stopped caring now.
I wonder if having more and more fans petitioning the decision makers in the FFA may actually be the only practical thing we can do.

Perhaps we follow through with the whole "sponsor an NPL player idea"

Typically we spend $50 a season, give or take, on our membership. If we use that $50 toward a fund that sponsors a fans choice NPL player, we'd get that player on a professional contract with a salary of 100k, should 2000 people pay that sum

Thoughts?

If fans are going to fund a players salary i would hope we would aim a lot higher than an NPL player, whats the point in us paying for a player that the club would otherwise have paid anyway?

Maybe a sticker bombing raid to combine with the "protest" banner and have a few different messages depending on the target audience?

Like have "Make CCM Great Again" with a green tick next to the Premiers' Plate and Toilet seat, and a red cross next to a wooden spoon, then the web link below it? Post these up around Gosford and retail areas on the Coast.

Then have another sticker with "Make CCM Games Fun Again!" and a photo of the packed Bay 16 at the semi-final against the Scum in '08 (with a green tick) then a black and white image of the 8-2 scoreline against the Nix with a red cross. Again, have the site link below it

I'm thinking we could be daring and cheeky and do a raid in that town up north as well? Plaster stickers around Broadmeadow and the CBD/ waterfront and create a message their fans might buy into: "Make The F3D Great Again"- and link to an alternate page that sells them on the idea that a poor CCM equals poorer crowds and less interest in the derby from a fan, league and commercial perspective.

#thanksmike would be more effective. They only respond to negative publicity

I like the cut of your jib sir but a sticker protest/campaign probably won't help but combined with some other marketing it could be really useful.

Thought about this today and I wanted to know if this is possible

We're clearly not making money from playing games at CCS. The club is paying massive fees (to the council?) to use it each week and is only getting pitiful crowds.

MC; build a couple of grandstands at Pluim Park so the capacity sits around 5,000-10,000, wherever the value lies, and play the home games at a boutique stadium that the club owns so that it's all profit, the only fee they'd need to pay is to keep it kempt.

I think we'd all enjoy the games more at a smaller stadium because of the better atmosphere it brings. The FFA Cup games at boutique stadiums I attended were fantastic as far as atmosphere goes, especially the one against Brisbane.

I think if we did that and supporters enjoyed the matchday experience we could start bringing back the supporters to the club and also bring in some profit as opposed to paying massive money to play games at CCS.

I don't know how you guys feel, but that's my two cents.

There are requirements for A league grounds like lighting, corporate facilities etc they would need to meet. It’s not as simple as chucking up some new stands at pluim.

I gather it would be cheaper than paying to play at CCS?
