ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

So he just continues to take a pay check knowing full well what's going on and regurgitating the horse shit that he's told to? He's the head and the time has been and gone that he should have exposed exactly what's toxic with this organisation. Coming up with f**king campaigns to fool the public into supporting this absolute cluster f**k is reprehensible. Its for the badge? Yeah right.

lol this ain’t it chief.

A non existent owner while responsible for everything isn't the sole cause of a toxic culture. Shaun can take just as much of the blame no matter how nice of a guy he is or how friendly he is with you or any of the other foundation supporters.

Perhaps you could go and talk to any of the back room staff and then come and tell me what a toxic culture there is there.
Shaun doesn’t control the dressing room or the football department, but hey whatever helps you sleep at night pal

I haven't met them personally, but I know two guys who have. They tell me they're amazing people and would do anything for the club when asked. The club is first and foremost on their mind and they're very supporter orientated. Negativity from supporters, especially us foundation members, isn't taken lightly.

Don't listen to the media all the time. Some of it is blatantly false.

Doesn't control it? What part of ceo aren't you understanding? He's directly responsible for everything that happens at that club and he's not being held accountable because why? Any other boss on the face of this planet that is at the head of this cluster f**k would have been knifed by now. What are the KPI's he's hitting that allows him to have a seemingly unending contract? Because he's a nice guy doesn't f**king cut it.

While I feel he could provide more leadership he doesn't run the football side of the club

On a football scale Shaun has had a big hand in negotiations and player deals.
He often stayed here he was up all night making phone calls.

He has a large responsibility to communicate with MC about football matters and probably the only one to put together pitches and presentations to ask MC for resources and initiatives.

I still don’t understand why we don’t have a professional recruitement person / negotiater. Or hire a third party on the side to take advantage of their connections and expertise.

A football director will help but will only be useful if they have both Australian and international knowledge and experience / connections.

So in short Shaun has done well on a low CEO Salery but it would be good to have a CEO with a professional or football management background as well as a football director and a well as a new coach.

All 3 with strong resources and connections in Australia and abroad.

Anton seems slow and outdated, Staj doesn’t have enough pull / contacts in men’s football and Shaun has helped club connections but nothing to draw individuals.

And a bit more funding for the team please MC. Cheers.

Call me old fashioned but how poor at reading the game and how slow and square the back 4 is no matter who they play there the simple solution in defence is to play a sweeper. Mark man for man and TALK and have Ziggy sweeping as the keeper never comes out but is a good shot stopper. 2 goals on the weekend aren’t scored against the Phoenix if we had a sweeper and our team isn’t good enough or smart enough to play zonal defending. I will crawl back into my cave now.

No one plays a sweeper anymore TC.

None of that will happen Ads. MC wont even fund the team properly so he is not going to increase funding the backroom staff.

I don’t think you understand the meaning of “directly responsible” champ.

I don't think you've worked in an executive role before. Champ.
Yes he has ,while I personally believe SM might need to step forward and lead from the front to try to stop the brand being trashed (more) he is virtually excluded from the football side of things. PM him here or on FB and he will gladly talk to you.
His title may be CEO but the structure Charlesworth has in place is completely dysfunctional.
Yes, I have had this conversation with him on this and I understand his reasons (although we agree to disagree).

On a side note I know there are CCM staff who are really (really) struggling to cope with the abuse that they are getting - Mondays are dreaded.
When you decide to smash them on FB remember the people you are bitching about dont read it - the poor schmucks in the office do (and they even get abusive phone calls would you belive)
/end rant

That’s why i had to retire at 12. I was a kickarse Sweeper but it’s only a good position when your team sucks.
Personally I would have left me in midfield where i ripped shit up but i did love a tackle.

I don't do ccm on Facebook. But I can't believe that a CEO is restricted or separated from the operations of what the organisation is there to do. That's bullshit. He's not a CEO then. Just a glorified manager.

This is exactly the case. A more apt title should be General Manager. He has zero control over the football department other than the daily admin stuff.
