I reckon you could tell the team to forget every tactical instruction,
then say pick a man and stay with him the entire game without question within 1m in defence and 2m in attack and we would be getting better results.

I'm not saying we don't have players lacking in basic skills. Just that you wouldn't expect it at this level, and shouldn't expect the head coach to be teaching them.

I don't want to give Staj another season.....but I want to not give Staj another season even less.

I saw something last week regarding Pat Z in discussions to come and do the defensive coaching role. That may be a huge thing as Staj is obviously struggling in that area. Hopefully it's true and comes to something

Call me old fashioned but how poor at reading the game and how slow and square the back 4 is no matter who they play there the simple solution in defence is to play a sweeper. Mark man for man and TALK and have Ziggy sweeping as the keeper never comes out but is a good shot stopper. 2 goals on the weekend aren’t scored against the Phoenix if we had a sweeper and our team isn’t good enough or smart enough to play zonal defending. I will crawl back into my cave now.

He’s got a good thing going at Hills United. Wouldn’t expect him back here any time soon, especially as their season has just kicked off and the HAL is coming to a close.
